Softball Recap: Ticonderoga Sentinels vs. North Warren Central Cougars
Ticonderoga had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the North Warren Central Cougars with a sharp 21-4 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ticonderoga also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Myleigh Drinkwine made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Drinkwine was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Isabelle Burroughs was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Mattison, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
North Warren Central's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
Ticonderoga will head out on the road to challenge Moriah at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Warren Central, they will take on Argyle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
