Morristown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-23 heartbreaker at the hands of the Roxbury Gaels. The Colonials were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gaels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Jasiah Brown and Weston Elms certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Brown picked up 90 receiving yards and two TDs, while Elms threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.
Roxbury found their leader in sophomore Frankie Falco, who rushed for 109 yards and one score, and also threw for 51 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Falco is becoming a predictor of the Gaels' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
Morristown's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Roxbury, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
As of now, neither Morristown nor Roxbury have any future games scheduled.
