Softball Recap: Winter Park's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Geneva, Winter Park was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Harmony Longhorns. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Rylie Scanlon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Scanlon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Fleming, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Mikaela Will was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Winter Park's record now sits at 8-14. As for Harmony, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11.

Winter Park wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-3 loss against DeLand on the 23rd. As for Harmony, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-3 win against Tohopekaliga on the 22nd.
