Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bagdad). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Desert Heights Prep Yote 67-22. The victory continues a trend for the Sultans in their matchups with the Yote: they've now won six in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bagdad to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Rodriguez, who rushed for 166 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries. Rodriguez's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezrah Aguilar, who threw for 172 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bagdad was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
