Softball Recap: Kingman/Norwich's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Kingman/Norwich fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Medicine Lodge on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 8-7. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 9-4.

Michelle Koehler led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Tangi Mertens, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Kingman/Norwich's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-7. As for Medicine Lodge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Kingman/Norwich will welcome Cheney at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Medicine Lodge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
