Softball Game Preview: Marymount Sailors vs. Flintridge Sacred Heart Tologs

Marymount is 0-10 against Flintridge Sacred Heart since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Sailors will welcome the Tologs at 3:15 p.m. Marymount is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Marymount turned things around against Immaculate Heart on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Pandas with a sharp 28-10 win.

Amelia Cyril was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alianna Hong was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Haylan Simms was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Flintridge Sacred Heart finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to Bishop Alemany. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Tologs were not able to get on the board.

Marymount's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Flintridge Sacred Heart, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-4-1.
