Baseball Recap: Corcoran Victorious

Corcoran came out on top against Lindsay on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Panthers walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Cardinals. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Jordan Ramirez and Brody Frazier were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ramirez didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Frazier pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Ramirez went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run, while Frazier went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Ramirez a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brennan Botill, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Cortez Portillo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Corcoran's record is now 13-5. As for Lindsay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Corcoran will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lindsay: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
