Volleyball Recap: Mercy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mercy can bid farewell to their nine-match losing streak thanks to their match on Saturday. They skirted past the Nebraska City Pioneers 2-1. The Monarchs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pioneers, too.

Stella Cox paced Mercy's offense, picking up ten kills. Cox got some help from Lily Mills and her 12 assists. Cox was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Mercy's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Nebraska City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Mercy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Cedar Bluffs on the 27th. As for Nebraska City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Weeping Water on the 27th.
