Recap: Frazier Commodores vs. Clairton Bears
The Frazier Commodores lost against the Clairton Bears back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Frazier was outmatched by Clairton on the road and fell 50-6. While losing is never fun, Frazier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 529th, while Clairton is ranked 203rd).
Brennen Stewart punched in a rushing score. Andrew Bandish was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Clairton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drahcir Jones, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Jones was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Jaece Booker did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Frazier's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. As for Clairton, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Frazier will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northgate at 7:00 p.m. Northgate is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Clairton, they will head out on the road to face off against Jeannette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jeannette is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
