Softball Recap: Prairie Central Comes Up Short

Prairie Central lost against Morton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hawks lost 13-5 to the Potters. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sam Slagel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double. Miranda Hari was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Prairie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Morton, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-19 record.

Looking ahead, Prairie Central will take on Normal University at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Morton, they will head out on the road to face off against LeRoy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Potters surely won't give up without a fight.
