Basketball Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Dayspring Christian Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Flatirons Academy Bison and fell 75-27. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bison: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Dayspring Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Owen Crust posted ten points and five rebounds. Those ten points gave Crust a new career-high. Hudson Weigt also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Brandon Ewing was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-13 on his way to 25 points for Flatirons Academy. Parker Wilson was another key player, going 6-for-11 to rack up 12 points and six boards.

Dayspring Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Flatirons Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Dayspring Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-27 win against Gilpin County on the 7th. As for Flatirons Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-30 victory against Clear Creek on the 6th.
