Jeffersonville faced Homestead in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Joel Ramirez paced Jeffersonville's offense, picking up 16 kills. Ramirez got some help from Jordan Rodgers and his 26 assists. Anthony Ganchuluun controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Homestead can attribute much of their success to Harrison Talarico, who had eight digs and one assist. Soren Birkey also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

Jeffersonville's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Homestead, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Jeffersonville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Illiana Christian on the 26th. As for Homestead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Guerin Catholic on the 26th.
