Basketball Game Preview: Hagerty Huskies vs. Timber Creek Wolves

The Hagerty Huskies and the Timber Creek Wolves will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hagerty is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

On Friday, Hagerty strolled past Mount Dora with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Hurricanes are ranked 599th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Asa Kohn, who went 9 for 13 en route to 22 points. The game was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicolas Garces, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Timber Creek came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 55-45 win over East River on Thursday.

Hagerty is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Timber Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.

Hagerty took their win against Timber Creek in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 101-77. Will Hagerty repeat their success, or does Timber Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
