Softball Game Preview: Sheldon Huskies vs. Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack

Sheldon has gone 9-1 against Cosumnes Oaks recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Huskies will square off against the Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. Sheldon will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Sheldon's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Laguna Creek as they made off with a 13-0 win. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Micah Kennedy was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Sinitalela Heleta was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Sheldon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks came up short against Pleasant Grove on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Sheldon's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Sheldon took their victory against Cosumnes Oaks in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolfpack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
