The Fern Creek Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Fairdale Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fern Creek is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
16 must be Fern Creek's lucky number: they beat Whitefield Academy with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Tigers beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-3.

Charlotte Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Brown was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lakelyn Maloney was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted over her last eight games. Zariah St. Gerard also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Fern Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .630. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fairdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Brown on Monday as they made off with a 16-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
R Eades was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Eades was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Fairdale got a massive performance out of Serenity Perry, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Emma Krebs, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Fern Creek now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Fairdale, their record is now 8-13.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fern Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Fairdale struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fern Creek skirted past Fairdale 7-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
