Recap: Crete-Monee Warriors vs. Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves

After losing to the Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves the last time they met, the Crete-Monee Warriors decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Crete-Monee walked away with a 51-44 win over Thornton Fractional South on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given Crete-Monee's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Thornton Fractional South is ranked 58th).

Crete-Monee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kimora Darby, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. Darby hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Dejah Yankaway was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Crete-Monee's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Thornton Fractional South, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crete-Monee's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bolingbrook at 12:00 p.m. on November 29th. Bolingbrook will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Thornton Fractional South, they will head out on the road to face off against Shepard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
