Volleyball Game Preview: Triangle Math & Science Tigers vs. Falls Lake Firebirds

The Triangle Math & Science Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Falls Lake Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Triangle Math & Science will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Triangle Math & Science is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Panther Creek, who was ranked 17th at the time (Triangle Math & Science was ranked tenth). The Tigers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Catamounts on Monday.

Chris Lange and Shankara Dhamodaran were among the main playmakers for Triangle Math & Science as the former had three digs and three aces and the latter had 16 digs and two assists. The dominant performance also gave Lange a new career-high in assists (35).

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Falls Lake's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They came up short against Enloe, falling 3-0.

Falls Lake might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Enloe: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.

Falls Lake now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Triangle Math & Science, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Triangle Math & Science took their victory against Falls Lake when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
