Millington Central is 1-8-1 against Arlington since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Trojans will face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Millington Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Millington Central proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Covington 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Breanna Hulsey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Millington Central let Grace Bell and Hayley Stevens run wild. Bell scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Stevens scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Bell has posted since back in May of 2024. Maddie Dotson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Millington Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covington only posted a batting average of .214.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Arlington ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past Houston 8-6. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Arlington pushed their record up to 8-9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Millington Central, the victory got them back to even at 10-10-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Millington Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Arlington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Millington Central skirted past Arlington 15-14 when the teams last played last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
