Passers beware: Elijah Brandt came down with his first-ever interception on Friday and he's no doubt on the hunt for more. He also made five total tackles as Newport fell to Newport Central Catholic 26-6. We hope Brandt's good effort is the first of many we'll see posted here on MaxPreps.com.

Coming up, Brandt and Newport will be playing at home against Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are 8-2 against the Tigers going back to September of 2015, a lead they'll look to extend.
