Softball Recap: East Noble Knights vs. Warsaw Tigers
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times East Noble and Warsaw have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Knights wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Abby Alwine was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Alwine wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Helmkamp, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Shaye Ritchie was another, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.
East Noble suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Warsaw, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
