Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Weequahic Indians

Butler is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Weequahic is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Butler Bulldogs will take on the Weequahic Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Friday, everything went Butler's way against Verona as Butler made off with a 47-21 victory. Butler's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Kyle Perry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 282 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per carry. Perry's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.

Meanwhile, Weequahic never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over Wood-Ridge. Given Weequahic's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Wood-Ridge is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Their wins bumped Butler to 8-1 and Weequahic to 9-0.

Things could have been worse for Butler, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-28 loss to Weequahic in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Butler have more luck at home instead of on the road?
