Kingston proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Carsonville-Port Sanilac Tigers 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

Ella Koehler spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Kingston got a big performance out of Emma Freeland, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Freeland has posted since back in April. Piper St. George also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Kingston's record now sits at 9-4. As for Carsonville-Port Sanilac, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kingston beat the Tigers by a score of 11-1 later that day.
