Softball Recap: Dewitt's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

DeWitt waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Drew Central Pirates get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-1 back in April.

Khloe Llyod made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harley Grammer, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Ross, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

DeWitt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

DeWitt's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Drew Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeWitt will welcome Stuttgart at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
