Volleyball Recap: Van Buren Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Van Buren entered their tilt with Carey on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Devils. For the Black Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 15-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Lily Grine had a dynamite game, getting 20 digs and two assists. Those 20 digs gave her a new career-high.

Van Buren was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Van Buren's record is now 3-0. As for Carey, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Van Buren wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Seneca East on the 21st. As for Carey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Ross on the 23rd.
