Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Waubonsie Valley walked away with it. They managed a 66-61 victory over the Benet Academy Redwings on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won 21 matches in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waubonsie Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danyella Mporokoso, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. What's more, Mporokoso also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arianna Garcia, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.

Waubonsie Valley's record is now 31-1. As for Benet Academy, they moved to 29-3 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Waubonsie Valley will take on Alton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Benet Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
