Basketball Recap: Tuscarawas Valley Skates Past Indian Valley with Ease

Tuscarawas Valley had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 57-29 victory over the Indian Valley Braves. With that win, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Leah Bourquin was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Wallick, who posted nine points.

Tuscarawas Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Tuscarawas Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.2 points per game. As for Indian Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Tuscarawas Valley will square off against Sandy Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tuscarawas Valley's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Sandy Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Indian Valley, they will welcome Meadowbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Indian Valley is facing Meadowbrook at the right time seeing as Meadowbrook is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
