Basketball Recap: Gerstell Academy Falls Short of St. Mary's in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gerstell Academy can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 48-47 to the St. Mary's Saints. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against St. Mary's this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-50 back in January.

Gerstell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for St. Mary's, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-13.

Gerstell Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Mary's, they will face off against Severn School on Thursday. Severn School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully St. Mary's likes a good challenge.
