The Scott Skyhawks will face off against the Point Pleasant Big Blacks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Scott had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt WestSide on Tuesday. The Skyhawks put the hurt on the Renegades with a sharp 14-1 victory. Considering the Skyhawks have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kambri Beard made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Beard was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Scott got a massive performance out of Haven Tomblin, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Tomblin has posted since back in May of 2024. Rikki Bailey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Scott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as WestSide only posted a batting average of .062.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Point Pleasant, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against Wayne by a score of 10-6 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Big Blacks in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won four in a row.
Rylann Macknight spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kyla Queen was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Musser, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Scott is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Point Pleasant, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
