Baseball Recap: Wallkill Valley Comes Up Short

Wallkill Valley lost against Vernon back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rangers came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rangers have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Wallkill Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Vernon, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wallkill Valley will head out to challenge Hackettstown at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rangers 2.4, the Tigers 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Vernon, they will take on Sparta at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
