Baseball Game Preview: Lake Highland Prep Highlanders vs. Windermere Prep Lakers

The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders will challenge the Windermere Prep Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lake Highland Prep's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cocoa Beach on Tuesday.

Lake Highland Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reilly Diebel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Ari Lanxner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Windermere Prep never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Circle Christian on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-7 margin over the Centurions. The Lakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Windermere Prep got a massive performance out of Reggie Manzano, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave Manzano a new career-high. Joshua Goldberg was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Windermere Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Windermere Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Lake Highland Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Lake Highland Prep took their win against Windermere Prep in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 18-2 score. Do the Highlanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
