Cocke County picks up sixth straight win at home

Recap: Cocke County Fighting Cocks vs. Northview Academy Cougars

The Cocke County Fighting Cocks entered their tilt with the Northview Academy Cougars with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Cocke County walked away with a 53-44 victory over the Cougars on Tuesday. This was payback for Cocke County, who suffered a 52-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cocke County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blakelyn Clevenger, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Kitchen, who scored 18 points along with two steals.

Cocke County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Northview Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cocke County will face off against the Hurricanes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northview Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Seymour and the Cougars are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
