Elsinore came tearing into Friday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Tahquitz Titans. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 4-3 victory back in March.

Brayden Stankus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ivan Huerta was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Farias, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Elsinore's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Tahquitz, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Elsinore and Tahquitz should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Tigers will challenge Cornerstone Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (211 vs. 610). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Elsinore 3.4, the Crusaders 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Tahquitz (ranked 222nd) will meet JW North (ranked 693rd) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
