Recap: Randleman Tigers vs. Eastern Guilford Wildcats
The Randleman Tigers entered their tilt with the Eastern Guilford Wildcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Randleman slipped by Eastern Guilford 53-52 on Wednesday. Given Randleman's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Eastern Guilford is ranked 601st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tyshaun Goldston, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. He set a new season high mark in blocks with seven. Another player making a difference was Chase Farlow, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Randleman pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Eastern Guilford, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Randleman will challenge Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Grove will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Eastern Guilford, they will head out on the road to face off against Grimsley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Grimsley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
