Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Tigers vs. Veterans Memorial Chargers

Valley View hasn't had much luck against Veterans Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Valley View Tigers will take on the Veterans Memorial Chargers in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Valley View is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 74-23 loss at the hands of Weslaco. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Veterans Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 70-51 bruising from Harlingen. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Cardinals are ranked 158th).

Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Veterans Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Things could have been worse for Valley View, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-42 loss to Veterans Memorial in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Valley View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
