Baseball Recap: North Marion Wins Going Away Against Santa Fe

North Marion lost to Santa Fe back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Colts were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Raiders. With that victory, the Colts brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Trenton Ramsey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Rowan Quartararo was excellent, going 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. John Collins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

North Marion now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Santa Fe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

North Marion will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Santa Fe, they are taking a road trip to challenge Baker County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
