Baseball Recap: Northwest Triumphs

Northwest had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Chagrin Falls Tigers 4-3. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 16-6 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

Owen Thomas looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Zander Roncaglione, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Looking ahead, Northwest will challenge Cloverleaf at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chagrin Falls, they will face off against Williamstown at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
