Basketball Recap: Christian Academy Starts off Right with Win over Germantown Christian

Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). They took their match with ease, bagging a 54-15 win over the Germantown Christian Conquerors. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-4.

Despite the loss, Germantown Christian still got an impressive performance from Grace Smith, who posted nine points and five rebounds. That was a full 60% of Germantown Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Germantown Christian's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Germantown Christian at 12:15 p.m. on January 18, 2025. As for Germantown Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Dominion Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
