Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washington County). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Thomas Nelson Generals a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Commanders in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won six in a row.

Camden Abell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Washington County is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-12 otherwise. Abell was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Taylor, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Washington County is 3-1 when Taylor posts two or more runs, but 7-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jontate Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Washington County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Washington County's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Thomas Nelson, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Washington County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Generals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
