Recap: Van Vleck Leopards vs. Bay City Blackcats
The Van Vleck Leopards waltzed into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They walked away with a 45-33 victory over Bay City. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Van Vleck also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2020.
Van Vleck got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tia Fields out in front who scored 13 points along with 9 steals and 5 assists. Jaila Wilson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Van Vleck pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Bay City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1.
Van Vleck will head out on the road to face off against Brazoswood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brazoswood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 985th, while Van Vleck is ranked 453rd). As for Bay City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brazosport at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
