Baseball Recap: Baptist Prep Beats Pine Bluff for Their Fifth Straight Win

Baptist Prep had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Pine Bluff on Monday. The Baptist Prep Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pine Bluff Zebras a 20-0 shutout. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Andrew Mashburn looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Baptist Prep got a massive performance out of Austin Herring, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Herring has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ben Brown, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Baptist Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Bluff struck out six times.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Pine Bluff, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
