Baseball Recap: Smithfield Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with North Kingstown

Smithfield faced North Kingstown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Sentinels fell 7-2 to the Skippers. The Sentinels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Skippers earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

Smithfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Dwyer, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Smithfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. As for North Kingstown, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

As of now, neither Smithfield nor the Skippers have any future games scheduled.
