Baseball Recap: Chisago Lakes Area Comes Up Short

Chisago Lakes Area was the 10-9 winner over Cloquet when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Lumberjacks by a score of 9-7 on Friday.

Cole Stilp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Xander Breitenbach, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Chisago Lakes Area's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cloquet, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Coming up, Chisago Lakes Area will take on Big Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cloquet, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
