Basketball Recap: Timberland Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

If Academic Magnet wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Timberland, they should've done a better job of containing Zion Prioleau. The Timberland Wolves put the hurt on the Academic Magnet Raptors with a sharp 59-39 win on Friday thanks in part to Prioleau, who went 10 for 25 en route to 26 points along with eight boards and six steals. Those 26 points gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was China Greene, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Several Raptors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Moody, who scored four points along with nine boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Barrineau, who put up six points and three steals.

Timberland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Academic Magnet, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timberland will face off against Woodland at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Academic Magnet, they will challenge Burke at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Burke will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Academic Magnet surely won't give up without a fight.
