Recap: MacArthur Generals vs. Rochester Rockets
The MacArthur Generals lost against the Rochester Rockets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. MacArthur fell to Rochester 51-47. MacArthur has not had much luck with Rochester recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Generals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casey Jackson, who scored 13 points. Jackson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lamara Cliff, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Taylor Offer was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five assists for Rochester. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Gegen, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
MacArthur has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Rochester, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. MacArthur will take on Decatur Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Decatur Eisenhower is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Rochester, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lanphier at 7:00 p.m. Lanphier is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
