Basketball Game Preview: Carlsbad Lancers vs. Olympian Eagles

The Carlsbad Lancers and the Olympian Eagles will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Carlsbad's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.

On Friday, Carlsbad was fully in charge, breezing past Rancho Buena Vista 91-51. The Lancers have beaten the Longhorns the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Longhorns has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, after only 29 points in their last matchup, Olympian made sure to put some points up on the board against Eastlake on Friday. Olympian breezed by Eastlake to the tune of 66-38. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Titans are ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olympian's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Carlsbad, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.

Carlsbad came up short against Olympian when the teams last played back in December of 2017, falling 64-56. Thankfully for Carlsbad, Isaiah Williams (who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
