Recap: Harpeth Indians vs. East Hickman County Eagles
After flying high against the Jo Byrns Red Devils two weeks ago, The Harpeth Indians came back down to earth. Harpeth fell just short of East Hickman County by a score of 22-19. Harpeth was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Hickman County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2016.
Although Harpeth took the loss, they still got scores from Hayden Penrod, Karson Mauk, and Landen Perry.
Robert Richardson was a one-man wrecking crew for East Hickman County as he rushed for 230 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Ragsdale, who threw for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
Harpeth's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only -2.67 points. As for East Hickman County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harpeth will take on Hickman County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Hickman County is ranked 234th, while Harpeth is ranked 237th). As for East Hickman County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Summertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
