Softball Recap: Cranston West Takes Down Ranked Prout

Cranston West faced Prout in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Falcons came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Crusaders two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Mia Crudale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, Cranston West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Wells, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Cranston West and bumps their season record up to 13-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Prout, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-7 record.

As of now, neither Cranston West nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
