Baseball Recap: Culver City Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Culver City came out on top against Hawthorne on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run second inning. The Centaurs never let the Cougars get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The Centaurs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Ben Navarez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Devin Asamura-Halll was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBI. Blake Carbo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Culver City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hawthorne only posted an OBP of .067.

Culver City pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.7 runs. As for Hawthorne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Culver City beat the Cougars by a score of 11-0 on Thursday.
