Volleyball Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. White County Warriors
After both having extra time off, the Jefferson Dragons and the White County Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Oconee County and fell 2-1.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Jefferson sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 22-25, 15-8.
Meanwhile, White County entered their tilt with North Hall on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Trojans.
White County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-22, 15-7.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 23-4. As for White County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.
Jefferson skirted past White County 2-1 in their previous matchup back in August of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
