Baseball Recap: Gilroy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Gilroy entered their tilt with Hill on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 6-3. Six seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Mitch Friebel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Passama, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. Brennan Neander was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Gilroy's victory bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-18.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gilroy beat the Falcons by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday.
